HENLEY ROAD, MARLOW
Drainage works to improve highway flooding on the A4155 Henley Road, Marlow to alleviate associated flooding issues for local residents.
The improvement works included installation of two 3m dia. soakaway chambers, new catchpits, trapped gullies, manholes, carrier pipe runs from 150mm dia. to 450mm dia. and the creation of a new swale.
In addition new post and rail fencing was installed between the swale and footway. All surfaces affected by the works, except for the swale were reinstated to match the existing specification and finish.
Works were hindered by the presence of a previously unknown existing brick soakaway, solid concrete layers within the carriageway and verge excavations, and existing foul sewer pipes requiring layout designs for the new pipe runs, whilst works were ongoing.
The scheme was completed under a restricted hours road closure for Balfour Beatty Living Places under the Buckinghamshire CC Term Maintenance Contract. Traffic management was provided by others.
