As a family run business, we are committed to working collaboratively with a supply chain and partners who share our values. We want to impact positively within the communities in which we work, through maximising the economic, environmental and social benefits of our construction activities.

We aim to build and maintain good public relations, working with the communities and local authorities around our civil engineering projects. Through community engagement and working together we ensure that community needs are understood. ensuring the long-term success of each project.

NC & JC actively get involved in the community by employing in the area and creating local supply chain opportunities, directly benefitting the local economy.

Our buyer ensures that local businesses are given the opportunity to quote for any materials and plant that may be required. We buy from both local independent suppliers and local branches of national suppliers.

We maintain a minimal fleet of the right vehicles for the jobs we undertake, which in addition to employing and buying locally, results in a lower carbon footprint.

JUNE 2026 – MKRuggerfest Sponsor
N&C were delighted to sponsor the Women’s Social competition at one of the greatest established Rugby 7s Festivals in the centre of England. Held at Milton Keynes RUFC, nearly 40 teams participated across 5 competitions – Men’s Elite, Men’s Social, Men’s Beer, Women’s Open and Women’s Social.

This year MKRuggerfest also hosted a 36-hour Ring of Fire Spinathon in aid of MK Prostate Cancer Support Group. Part of the NC & JC family were thrilled to join in the spinathon, helping to raise awareness for this fantastic charity.

With a brilliant line up of local music and artists throughout the day, the event was great fun for all the family.

MAY 2026 – Friends of the Three Schools and Furze Down Colour Run Sponsor
For the third year running we have continued to proudly sponsor the Friends of the Three Schools and Furze Down Colour Run, helping to raise much needed funds for four local schools.

Held at Furze Down School in Winslow, a local SEN school which specialises in communication and interaction, NC & JC also supplied and installed pedestrian barriers for the course.

The event was a huge success with our Directors and their families continuing the tradition of taking part in the run.

APRIL 2026 – Buckinghamshire Highways Alliance’s Easter Appeal
This year we donated Tesco Vouchers to the Buckinghamshire Highways Alliance Easter appeal, towards the purchase of Easter eggs. The appeal supported the following local causes:

• Vale of Aylesbury Vineyard Christian Fellowship
• One Can Trust
• Hills Café, High Wycombe
• Aylesbury Foodbank
• Amersham Hospital
• Stoke Mandeville Hospital

As an Alliance, an astonishing 1,055 Easter eggs were donated, with an estimated value of £3,350!

DECEMBER 2025 – MK Food Bank & Keech Hospice
On behalf of employees who chose to forgo their Christmas gift for charity, NC & JC donated £200 to MK Food Bank, who provide short term crisis support and care for families and individuals in Milton Keynes.

We also donated £50 to Keech Hospice, a registered hospice charity who support adults across Bedfordshire and children and their families across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes with life-limiting conditions.

NOVEMBER 2025 – Kier ‘Mother Christmas’ Appeal & Buckinghamshire Highways Alliance Christmas Raffle
NC & JC donated selection boxes, sweets and gift sets to the Kier ‘Mother Christmas’ appeal to provide gifts at Christmas for Northamptonshire teenagers in social care and from disadvantaged families.

In support of the Balfour Beatty Living Places Alliance Christmas Raffle, NC & JC donated a £200 John Lewis gift card prize. The raffle will raise funds for the Councils Christmas Angel Charities, which this year includes:
• Buckingham Clothes Bank
• Inspire Bucks
• Heart of Bucks
• Southcourt Baptist Church
• Chiltern Foodbank
• One Can Trust

We donated £100 to the Buckinghamshire Highways Alliance Easter appeal to help purchase Easter eggs. The eggs have been donated to One Can Trust and Aylesbury Foodbank to ensure as many children as possible receive an Easter treat this year.

MARCH 2025 – North Crawley Race Night

NC & JC sponsored a ‘horse’ at a local race night to help raise funds for North Crawley Cricket Club

FEBRUARY 2025 – Work Experience & Moonwalk Midnight Walk

Cristi completed his work experience with NC & JC hoping to learn more about financial processes and logistics. He has spent time learning about the different areas of our business and completed a number of administrative tasks to assist with business development.

NC & JC donated £100 in support of Sian Thomas, a Balfour Beatty employee who will be completing the ‘MoonWalk’ – a 26.2 mile midnight walk on 17th May at Clapham Common. Organised by charity Walk the Walk, the MoonWalk raises money and awareness for breast and other cancers.

DECEMBER 2024 – The Aylesbury Vineyard Storehouse

On behalf of employees who chose to forgo their Christmas gift for charity, NC & JC donated £200 to The Aylesbury Vineyard Storehouse, a charity supported by Christmas Angels, Buckinghamshire Highways Christmas Appeal.

The Aylesbury Vineyard Storehouse provide household goods, children’s clothing, child and baby equipment and emergency food parcels, free of charge, to those in crisis situations and financial hardship.

OCTOBER 2024 – Alecs Angels Charity Steam Train Pull, Buckinghamshire Railway Centre

On Sunday 13th October, a team of NC & JC Construction employees took part in a charity steam train pull at Buckinghamshire Railway Centre, to help raise money for Alecs Angels, a local charity based in Buckingham.

Our team were harnessed together and had 45 minutes to pull a Hudswell Clarke 1742 Millom 0-4-0ST down a railway track as many times as possible. We succeeded in pulling the train 1.2km in total and raised £500 through sponsorship.

Alec’s Angels was set up in memory of Alec Jarvis who was diagnosed with an Astrocytoma in 2010. His father Brian set up Alecs Angels to raise funds in support of other children and families going through childhood cancer. JULY / AUGUST 2024 – Summer Work Experience

Zach from Furze Down School, Winslow and Josh from The Cottesloe School, Wing, joined us for work experience over the summer.

A range of administration and yard tasks were undertaken to enable both Zach and Josh to experience different roles within the construction industry.

We hope they can utilise their new skills as they continue their studies at school.

JUNE 2024 – Leroy’s Memorial Golf Day

In June we donated £250 to Leroy’s Memorial Golf Day held at Shendish Manor, Hemel Hempstead. The event was organised by a supply chain contact, all profits made from the event were donated to The British Heart Foundation.

MAY 2024 – Friends of the Three Schools and Furze Down Colour Run Sponsor

NC & JC Construction were proud sponsors of the Friends of the Three Schools and Furze Down Colour Run which took place on the 18th May. The event was held at Furze Down School in Winslow, Buckinghamshire, a local SEN school which specialises in communication and interaction.

The run involved wearing white and being doused from head to toe in different coloured powders at various stages of the course, with optional obstacles. With no winners or official times, the colour run caters for everyone.

In addition to sponsoring the event our Directors showed further support by participating in the run. A great day was had by all.
