NENE RISE, COGENHOE

Drainage improvement works at Nene Rise Cogenhoe, to help prevent future flooding.

The works included the excavation, installation and reinstatement of 102m x 225mm surface water drainage pipe and new manholes, with existing manholes and gullies diverted into the new pipe run.

To further help prevent future flooding, ACO channel drains were installed in front of driveways that have previously flooded, and kerb heights raised. Vacuum excavation was utilised due to the high volume of underground services.

Additional footway and carriageway resurfacing was undertaken due to previous flood damage. Driveway access was always maintained for residents.

The works were undertaken for Kier Transportation under the West Northamptonshire Highways Term Maintenance Contract.
